31st August candles

tonight I lit this candle for my darling husband Paul.

It is 78 weeks since that dreadful Sunday.

I don’t know how it can be that long since we were together.

Each week has been so very, very sad.

I miss you so much Paul and long for you to be here.

You are the love of my life, you always will be.

I wish you were still here with me.

Love you now and always :heart:xx

Thanks Rose.

I’m lying in bed with a sore throat, cough and cold feeling sorry for myself.

I have taken paracetamol & cough medicine to help.

What makes it worse is that it’s the first minor illness I’ve had since Jackie passed.

The comfort of knowing she was always there for me during bouts of ‘man flu’ has gone. :smiling_face_with_tear:

You take care

Sorry to read you are not well.

It is so very different and difficult now being unwell without them.
It is an awful ‘first’.

Make sure you have plenty of liquids nearby, along with something easy to eat and medicines.
Also, have a phone with you.

I hope you get some rest and don’t overdo it.

Thanks Rose. It’s only what us men call man flu. :grinning:

It’s any potential more serious issues we all may have that concern me in this solitary life.

Still take care

It’s so hard but we have to no

Rest and plenty of fluids as Rose said

Yes I agree the thought of anything major is scary

Sending hug.

Getting better Rose. Sore throat has gone. Just left will a cough.

Hope you’re feeling well

I am well enough but we all know the thoughts and feelings are just overwhelming sometimes. I keep wondering where my darling is - sounds silly I know.

My wife grew her wings 22 October 2023 - I cant believe it’s nearly 2 years since I held your hand and heard your voice. I miss you now as much as I did the day you slipped away and always will x

Hi @Dazzaman i absolutely know that feeling well. I lost my husband in january 24 after 35 years together i met him whe i was 18 i too am trying to navigate this path of grief and i too keep getting lost.
I miss him with all my heart he was my world its a very long and twisting path we are on and only those who are on it can truly understand.
I dont know if like me people expect you to be moving on after that amount of time but its not simple is it.
