Hi. Lost my hubby of 43 years suddenly on 11th June. No chance to say goodbye, he died alone in hospital which breaks my heart. I am going through breast cancer treatment (which pales into insignifance). My 45 year old daughter in law had heart attack 2 days after he died. We moved house just over a year ago; feel isolated (this house/location was hubby’s dream, not mine). Family and friends are being amazingly supportive. Tested positive for Covid this morning so isolating atm. Can’t see much point in the future , every day is a battle and seems so pointless
Hi @JoH, welcome to the Community. I am so sorry for your loss.
It’s important to take one day at a time and be kind to yourself. Things do seem so much tougher when you’re unwell and isolation certainly won’t help at all. Maybe it could be a good time to register with our recently-launched Grief Self-Help Service which has some really useful information to help you cope with what you are going through right now.
Another good place to get support is Cruse Bereavement. They offer a helpline, email support, counselling and support groups through their local services. Contact them on 0808 808 1677, helpline@cruse.org.uk or via their website
Please remember Samaritans are always available 24/7 to talk about anything that you are worried about in confidence. You can call them on 116 123.
I do hope you find our community helpful. Keep reaching out and please know that we’re here for you.
Take care,
Mick
