@brummy Yes, strange things can happen. I think that was it, the first time, unhinged by grief. More recently, it seemed deliberate. Thanks for replying, have a good evening Cindy ![]()
Hi Cindy if you are feeling anything strange about a PM or a normal post you should press the little flag at the bottom of the post and the monitors are very nice and will help quickly. I hope it doesn’t spoil your use of the site. Wishing you all the best Tom

I know the feeling coming home to an empty house life isn’t the same anymore it’s been 2 years and 7 months since I lost my beloved. I miss him so much
.
Heart-breaking, but true.
It’s so hard been 8 months, not sure why but it seems to be getting harder. Constantly seems like I’m in some sort of a daze plodding on mindlessly.
I feels like I’m on autopilot sometimes just going through my day but my heart is no longer in it. I miss my beloved so much. ![]()

I feel like that all of the time… every single day, and it’s been nearly 14 months. I do the “basics” but in autopilot mode… almost in a daze, my heart isn’t in it at all anymore. Devastatingly, everything is pointless and meaningless now. The thing is… my wonderful and amazing husband and the beautiful life we had, were the stuff of fairytales. To go from that dream life… to this lonely existence… what more can I say??? I miss my darling husband and our life with every beat of my heart and I know that I will NEVER recover, but I try to plod on.

Hi, there are a lot of suit seems, totally alone. The Lonliness is unbelievably painful. My husband became ill and he died in three weeks, most of it in lying in intensive care. He was only diagnosed just before passing. He had no idea, nor did I what was coming. The shock has been awful, the Lonliness and anxiety off the scale. People who have someone are blessed. It’s a new life and hard to grasp at times. Take care, sleep, drink water, eat something. Another weekend, totally alone. My old life and how days were constantly pass through my head, but it’s not life now. Life really is cruel, but I try to remember there are people in the world much worse off. It’s hard.
As I have said before, just hope it will not be too long before you are together again. That is all you can wish for.
You have just got to believe that the good times you had outweigh the pain that you are feeling now. I only wish I could take my own advice.
I’m no rush to meet again, one day we will. I know he is safe. Have to learn how to manage until then, the hard part. Take care.
It’s sad to say - but you are not alone. However, that is of no help to you. In fact, I am not sure that anything would be of help, so why have I said it. I wish I knew.
Dear @Dembro yes, my hope is that it won’t be too long before my husband and I are together again, I miss him so much and not having been able to say good bye (since he died of sudden cardiac arrest out of the blue) is one of the things that hurts the most.
It is so hard, thought things would get better over time but it’s not.Been eight months now can’t bring myself to believe what has happened. Miss Jane so much.
I never thought it’d be this hard for me personally. I’ve always been fairly independent and he was, too. But, we had each other’s backs and shared history, along w/ a lot of love and affection, even during more challenging times. I put my husband on a pedestal (he did me, too) and I never knew how much till he was gone. I think the sun and moon revolved around him.
@HeartofGold Eve, how are you feeling today?
I can understand where you are coming from. I am 52 and my beautiful Mandy was 59. She passed away unexpectedly at home nine days ago after 19 years of marriage. We were each others world and had both been through so much the previous 10 years. We’d moved to a lovely apartment after selling the house, only in January and were looking forward to the next 25,-30 years together. Then everything is ripped apart.
I do have support from her brother but he lives a distance away. Her work colleagues have been good, but even with that, my low times, particularly today, are a real struggle. I worry about what might happen.
Keep chatting on here when you need to, you will always find someone who responds with kindness wanting to help.
Take care
Steve x
Dear @StephenW999 I a m so sorry for your loss, which is so recent that you must still be in shock! I still 59 and lost my husband of 35 years 5 months ago totally unexpectedly and still can’t come to terms with it at all. The first two months the pain was unbearable. I hope you have some support and help. One of the most horrible things is what you describe, losing your future and plans - it is so difficult to even realise what that means Wishing you all the best!!
I’m also 59. I lost my husband 6 months ago. I live in a small village and there are a few widows who have all been lovely and incredibly supportive but they are all in their 70s. I feel so out of sinc.
I take my dog out every day and say good morning to everyone I pass. That’s my total face to face human interaction. I don’t work any more. I’m lucky in that my children call often.
I went to a bereavement group today. I enjoyed it and will go back but, again, I was the youngest by a good few years.
I genuinely don’t fit in anywhere anymore.
