Sorry not been on line for a while just been busy with a lot of rubbish from people. So called friends are saying I’m not allowed to be be negative or say how I am feeling . Also they say I should not grieve in front of them . I told them to get lost . I have cut all ties with them. I hate them . But that’s life

Hiya Michael,
Telling people to get lost can be so liberating so we’ll fine. The only person you need to think about is yourself and your healing and wellbeing. No one can tell you how to behave in grief. I am glad you have stood up for yourself and protected yourself
Well done

Good! They should be ashamed to try to tell you how to grieve, it’s up you and you alone. But it’s sad that people are that insensitive, especially those you call friends, it’s happened to me as well.

Michael I think at times like this you realise who your friends really are. I am nearly a year down the line since losing my mum and I feel like it happened yesterday, still raw. Look after yourself and if they can’t be there they are not worth wasting time on. Take care

@Valda

ThankYou very much. Christmas is going to be hard this year

Hi Michael,
Sometimes your own company is best. I thankfully am someone who likes my own company so at times like grieving I have found being alone has suited me. There will always be people that will tell you what to do or how you should lead your life and when someone is grieving some people not all though seem to be your best friend all of a sudden and dish out all kinds of recommendations etc.
Just spend time sorting yourself out in your own way. Then when you are stronger you will be able to deal better with comments etc.
Dont let anyone tell you how to grieve. Its only you that can tell yourself that
Thinking of you

Good evening Deborah, thanks for your kind messages. I do not care what they all think of me. My friend and I are no longer talking as her idiot bf was one of the guys. I told her to get lost if she is with him. The guy she is with he cheated on her already but she can’t see it. Iam not going to be there for her. I have my own life to deal with. I have been classified as disabled now

Hi Michael,
That’s the way. My mum used to say Dont worry about people who dont worry about you. I often think of her wise words. And she was so right.
Sometimes people cant see how they are being treated and also will not take advice so let them carry on. They will soon realise .
I am glad you have sorted things out for yourself and hopefully being classed a s disabled will bring you more support. Its good news for you so well done
Deborah

This is the hardest day of my life. Just thinking of my mum. As I’m sure everyone else is well. I wish you all a good day

Hi Michael, my first Christmas in over 50 years without my mum. So called ‘friends’ have not even dropped me a message. I guess the presents are not as impressive now my mum is not here to pay for them! Some people are disappointing, others, true friends not users, have been lovely. I am spending the day on my own, this is my choice, I just need to get through the next few days.

Wishing you peace & love.

@Daisy57

I sent my sisters a message only one of them responded. Thanks for your message. This is my Xmas without my mum as well.

Sorry, Michael. It’s horrible to bear Christmas without our loved ones. I’m just floored with pain myself and sending you hugs and strength.

The first Christmas without my mum for me and my son. I couldn’t be bothered either but just wanting my son to try and have a semi decent day. He has been struggling as everyone he knows excited but just wants it over. Agree it shocks you when you think good friends will be in touch but nothing. I spent a bit of time with my mums brother and his daughters who lost my aunt a few months before my mum, we shed some tears for them but in all was nice to be around them before heading home :sparkling_heart: it’s nearly done thank goodness
