This is such a hard month, first October without by darling hubby. It would have been our 46th wedding anniversary next week. Since our daughters grew up we have always went away for our anniversary, so many happy memories of places we had gone to. I had in my mind that I would keep doing what we had always done, but I have decided I can’t go away by myself, I have never been away by myself or even eating out by myself as we enjoyed doing things together .
I’m sure there will lots of people on here in similar positions, how did you get through these times.
@Mary.Mac my forst wedding anniversary without my husband on Saturday. We would have been married 35 years. Like you we usually went on holiday or a weekend away. This year I’m going to Glenfinnan with my daughter & family as my husband wanted to go but never got the chance. It’s going to be a difficult day, I’m sure.
So sorry for your loss.
3 years for me in 2 months time.
I went on a cruise last Jan on my own. Hated every minute. Never again. Been with family a few times but always feel I am missing my man. Like you, we did everything together. Miss my life too.
@Jan17 Its our Wedding Anniversary on Saturday too and the first one without him. I’m dreading it! Wish I had something planned like you. J x
The first anniversary without him would have been our 57th. I decided I was just going to feel sad and have a wallow.
I looked through all of our photo albums, played our favourite music and mainly cried. Strangely it made me feel better.
The following day I got on with my life without him. Not easy but no choice.
Sorry to hear it will be hard on your special anniversary days.
I had mine on 28th August it was 36 years and only 2months after he passed away.
