Anxiety grief

Hi. Im new to this forum. I lost my best friend October 2025, she was like my mum and we spent so much time together. I have cried for her but for around 2 weeks now my anxiety has taken over. I thought I was doing okay but obviously not. I lost my mum when I was 24 and Alison my BF filled that void and now she is gone. Could this be grief I havent processed yet. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello @Marz,

I’m so sorry for the loss of your best friend who was like your mum. It sounds like you had a very special friendship, and it’s completely understandable that you’re feeling anxious without her, especially as she helped to fill the void left behind when your mum died.

I’m sure that someone will be along to offer their support. In the meantime, you might want to look at some of Sue Ryder resources which can help you to cope with your grief.

I really hope you find the community to be a support to you too. Please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone :blue_heart:

Hello marz, so sorry for your loss, losing a loved one brings out so many different emotions. You can be ok one moment and the next you’re crying your eyes out. It is hard being without that person that was always there for us, then their gone and we’re left feeling lost. Posting on this site has helped me a lot, and reading other people’s messages shows me im not alone. I hope it helps you as well, take care and God bless you :folded_hands:
