Have you talked to Occupational Therapy and the care team? You’re going to need help, I’d have thought, especially getting her in and out of the wheelchair. If you’re on two crutches, even cooking is difficult. OT might be able to arrange for carers to come in daily to help.
Sorry I pressed reply too early.
It’s the not having him here now that hurts.
Thinking is what gets to me too. If you can keep distracted it helps.
Sending hugs, brandy, and love Lucy xx
Now that’s an offer and a half,but a few questions,what is a jetwasher,do the garden💁🏻♂️
Go shopping? although not a bad cook, dab hand at uncorking wine, make a mean g+t that’s about my limit.
Don’t worry Ron, I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it all. Jane will happily give instructions from the sofa
Is it possible to have carers in the morning to shower and dress Katie. Then in the night to get her safely to bed. Occupation Health should be able to help you. X
Oh dear, well, I will accept the cooking, it has to be better than here. Substituting g + t for Bacardi + coke would work, and if you can pop a fosters can we will manage. No doubt your military training means you can use an iron. What about washing and dishwashing? I am afraid I don’t have any brass buttons to polish. You could paint perfectly good stones white if you get bored. Xx
Believe me Lucy after 10 minutes of my diy skills she would be kicking me back up the M1.
I will have to ask the Katie’s social worker to refer me to the relevant team as learning disability support is her area. Some of it will be to support Katie, some me. I really don’t fancy strangers coming to the house, but needs must.
Hopefully it won’t be for too long. Xx
@Ron11 needs to think of me like a dalek, bossy, creepy and confrontational, but not dangerous. I can’t climb stairs and I am unable to exterminate anyone. Believe me, if I could this hospital would have a few empty beds. Xx
Well fellow swampers, fires roaring, hands and ladders at the ready, brandy opened coffee simmering, marshmallows toasting, who’s first.
How very cruel. You know I am not allowed out to play. They turn the lights out at 9.30. I have to hide my head and phone under the blankets.
Well I was off to bed but seeing as you’ve gone to so much trouble Ron I’ll have a double espresso with brandy and marshmallows please.
Lucy x
Coming up but you will have to toast your own,Jane and I have eaten the first lot.
I’m off to bed too
But I’ll just have a double brandy please
Goodnight everybody

Goodnight Liz sleep well brandy for bed.
Hello,
did I read bedtime?
I have just woken up.
Lay down on the sofa and fell asleep.
What have I missed?
Has anyone handed out the gin?
Are there any savoury snacks?
Have I missed the official lighting of the underwear?
Sorry Linda
Zebedee has just been …
X.
I am still up but was watching TV so missed the earlier chat. A bit of frivolity which I needed as it’s been a miserable day but ended good.
My nephew came to visit me - stayed an hour and a half. Great to have some company. Then a friend from home called to say her eldest daughter got engaged. She’s like a niece to me so lovely to hear the news.
Hope you can sleep tonight after falling asleep.
Siobhan

Hope you sleep well too Siobhan x
Morning everyone.
Raining here.
Jane you really will need some help. I understand not letting strangers in but they are not strangers for long. Mine are all lovely people. My care company make sure I have the same carers. I doubt the hospital will let you home without a care plan in place for you and Katie.
Come on Ron. You need to do your knight in shining armour bit.
Xx
