Remember Ron,
NOT the permanent marker pen!!
They used a marker pen on my leg! Arrows pointing upwards from my knee to hip, and a big “L” in a circle on my thigh.
Katie did not like that at all and has scrubbed it with a baby wipe.
It has so far resisted my best Floris shower gel. Anyone got any Cif or Flash?

The bruises on your tummy may never go. I still have them from 2022 from those injections but I bruise easily.
According to google hand sanitiser or nail polish remover to get marker off skin.
My hip recovery took awhile but I don’t remember how long. I wasn’t working at the time. I know I was mobile with crutches pretty quick as I had company about a week after the surgery!! I was living in Spain at the time.
Good luck. Do your exercises and if you do too much one day just take it easy for a day or so and you should be ok.

I lie on the table, if anyone can make a recognisable shape, the others call out. The drawer gets a drink of their choice or chocolate, and so do I.
When all the dots have been used. We share all the unclaimed chocolates and drinks. By this time we will all be so happy we will not care what the point was.
A bit like life, really!

Now you know what that angle grinder is for.Xxx
@2hard2bear @Catrin1
Thank you. I came home with paracetamol and codeine, although I ditched the latter. No morphine since discharge.
Physio told me there is nothing to avoid apart from twisting from the hip. I was up the day after the op, using a frame, taking myself to the toilet and shower. They gave me crutches 2 days later, showed me how to use them for stairs the day before coming home. The physio watched me and said the crutches on stairs seem more of a hindrance than help because my hands are too small to hold two crutches when I have to. So I am going upstairs using the handrail. So far I have come down in Katie’s stairlift.
I just wonder how long it will be until I can push Katie’s wheelchair. And when I have handed her over, how will I make my way back indoors. I suppose I could hang the crutches on her chair temporarily or see if they will balance on her lap. Oh! It’s all such a faff.

The angle grinder can be the first prize. Second prize is a huge collection of Allen keys, third is 1001 cable ties.
I have 100 tea lights I can add to the prize. Already given away 100. As per wheelchair couldn’t they come and collect her from inside. Or at least come to you and carry your crutches.
Oh, wow! they must have used one of the newer surgical approaches. I wasn’t allowed to bend past 90 degrees for 12 weeks, couldn’t shower for 4 weeks (the shower is over the bath) and every day John had to wrestle the tight green Nora Batty compression socks up my legs. And I had to take oramorph and Nefopam for a fortnight for the pain, which was terrible. The whole thing was a nightmare. And this was done at a private hospital! I didn’t have to inject. though, as I just took blood thinners.
As you know I am no gardener, can someone tell me,when a rose bush has been cut back will it still grow flowers after it’s been cut.
I am no gardener but it depends on the weather. Will probably need pruning again in the spring. This time wear gloves.
@Ron11 yes they will, I am no expert gardener but have a climbing rose that I cut back last year, it needs doing again now.
Also a tall standard rose, which was cut back and had lots of flowers on this year.
Jaq’s favourite flower was a peony, just as you walk into the garden, I cut it back last year and thought I had killed it and was quite upset, however it grew and flowered again
I just thought it strange,I cut this rose back no flowers no buds two weeks ago yet one flower has blossomed today.
Happens in my garden all the time.
Same here Gra ws the gardner not me, i cut the rose bush right back, it as started flowerinng again this week .
Hugs jo. Xx
It’s been quite mild; it’s amazing how quickly these things grow. Particularly the weeds!
