It is the first anniversary of my mums death in a couple of days and all the feelings of loneliness and sadness are resurfacing. I dont understand why i feel this or how to deal with it, i just want to get through the day as normal but i dont know if i can but worry if i dont i will let others down.

Hi @LesleyC84 these feelings are all to be expected when a key date approaches. Just do whatever brings you some comfort, everyone has their own coping strategies. For me, I lit a candle and had a quiet time of reflection when the first anniversary of my Mum’s death came around in January. Don’t worry about what others think, everyone has their own way of managing their grief so you should feel able to express yourself without judgement. Best wishes, take care xx
