Lost everyone parents , partners and friends so used drugs to cope now clean I suppose I need to deal with grief never grieved any of them so it’s time and I’m shitting myself
Craig. You’ve just taken one huge step forward in coming on here! Well done you. You’ve also taken huge steps by getting clean of the drugs. I know how hard that must have been as I have a relative who did the same not long ago. Now just take a small step at a time - day by day or even hour by hour. I won’t promise it will be easy going but it’s probably not as difficult as getting off the drugs. So take tiny steps on your new journey and eventually you will get to where you want to be. Take great care of yourself and be proud of yourself for what you have achieved already! Regards M
@Craig0
I too have Iost two parents , am an only child & lost my Husband of 34 years.
You used drugs to cope no judgement here.You’re now clean which must mean you’ve found a strength from deep inside yourself.Yes you recognise that next you need to deal with the grief you didnt face before which is mega scary but acknowledging that is also brave.
You’ve taken some major steps forward, just keep on the path youre on and you will get there.
Hi @Craig0,
I agree with @Nigel-Marnee & @Jane64. What you have achieved in coming off the drugs is nothing short of brilliant! You are so much stronger than you think. Yes it will be devastatingly painful to process your losses, but you already know you can’t run from it. Just brace yourself for what’s to come & talk to your doctor to get some grief counselling & any other support they can offer.
I’ve now lost both my parents (mum 5 months ago) & I am drowning in grief so I know where you are coming from.
