Everyone I've loved gone

My heart is breaking, and as time is passing its getting tougher to come to terms with my loss.

WithIin an 18 month window my world fell apart. I lost my furbaby after 18yrs on Dec. In the January, My husband was diagnosed with cancer. And he went through horrific treatment. June he got the all clear. That same day my beloved Mum passed. My Dad was broken and that October he died under awful circumstances. The following March my husbands cancer came back and at the end of May he also passed. I’veno children very few friends and I dont see much of my family. Im lost and alone. I try to be strong but life is very cruel and these last few months I’m struggling.

Yes, that’s all very tough. It’s going to take a while to put things in order probably. There are a few on here who have lost close family and have no one else so keep posting.

Hi yorkieblueeyes

I’m so sorry for your losses, I’m also on my own now I’ve lost parents and brother in the last 5 years, i don’t have any family left and no close friends. I lost my husband of 30 years unexpectedly 2 months ago and it’s devastating I cry every day and it’s hard to find any joy in anything, all we can do is take 1 day at a time, I think they do have counselling on this site it could be worth you reaching out to them because having no one to talk to is one of the hardest things along with the loneliness,

Keep talking on here because someone will always comment and it is a lifeline for me and many others here they really are wonderful people here who totally get what your feeling we all feel the same so you can say exactly what your going through. Please be kind to yourself, do exactly what you feel you need to (cry when you need to it helps)

Sending you hugs jean:people_hugging::people_hugging::people_hugging:

I do find comfort on here it’s such a safe place to talk about not just our grief but the ordinary day to day problems we have, someone is always listening so we don’t feel so alone

Hi @Yorkieblueeyes
I am sorry for all your losses, I have also lost a lot of family members. And 1 year ago today lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly.
I still take it one day at a time , I have joined many groups. Some have worked others haven’t. I also exercise swimming, walking ect which I have found helpful. I’m have had counselling and attend a bereavement cafe once a month. I’m am still navigating my way along the rocky road we are travelling.

So sorry for your loss, I lost my wife 8 weeks ago and my uncle 11 days later, I’ve been on my own since then due to the lack of support from friends, the people on here have been really supportive understanding what I’m going through and they’ll do the same for you, we’re all here to help each other through our darkest times, take care.

Couldn’t have said any better mark0675

The people on here are the kindest and the most understanding, everyone is feeling the same at some point in there journey, and it’s good that we can say what we feel at any given moment, we tend to say we’re fine to others not going through this pain. I don’t have a lot of support except for the people here, it’s comforting to be able to talk about our grief openly on here

God bless jean:heart:

What I like about this site the most is you will always supported and never judged by anyone about the way you feel, I wasn’t sure about sharing the amount of times I’ve cried over the last few months but now I know I’m not the only male to do that, I don’t feel ashamed of it.

I think that’s the problem today we hide our emotions too much and getting upset and crying seems to be too much of a taboo, but crying helps, i cry every day and i usually feel better after because the emotions build up too much if I don’t

Hope your feeling a little easier

God bless

Never be ashamed of anything. We are human and hurting. Crying is often the stop valve finally going, so it’s a release.

Hi @Mark0675
Everyone on here understands we are all on different stages of our grief journey but we get it .
Last week was a year since my husband died . My son and I cried together
There have been many times when I thought I’d never stop crying. Tears are healing tiring as well .

I lost the remainder of my family within 16 months four years ago. All I had was my wife and she has just passed. I know that feeling of loneliness.the fact that you are here is important as you see as I have , we are all struggling to cope with loss. Physical activity helps, talking to someone really helps. Getting out especially nature can help too.

I have found generally , that it is women who post about loss . There’s a horrible stick now with males being able to show their feelings and talk about them not just about grief but in general I think in this in the 21st century I think it’s ridiculous. I know here it’s a safe space and I can say exactly what I want to say, and I think that everybody and anybody should be able to feel like that.

I always thought a male that cries is showing a sign of weakness but on here everyone knows it helps us with our grief and is a part of the healing process, I’ll never feel ashamed of sharing it on here where everyone is so understanding.

Gosh you have really been through it!

How very sad.

I lost my mum, husband my dog within months

I have only been able to grieve my husband. Sort of blanked out that I lost the other two precious beings. Probably never will!!!

I have friends but my siblings have been awful. Blood doesn’t always mean love! I have parked that one as I have no room for them in my already troubled mind.

But YOU my darling what can I possibly say to ease your troubled mind. I have to admitt I am at a loss!

I really hope you keep posting and maybe, hopefully some kind soul can give you comfort or guide you more than I.

HUGS x

Im deeply sorry for loss, its very true as adults we grow so far apart from our siblings and once loss occurs you release you don’tknow them at all, and there in there own bubble and I’ve come to terms with that.

I do hope you can grieve all your losses and with time maybe in your own way you will, its important to recognise your own pain but also not to let it define you.

I have my work and ironically because I work with all men it keeps me grounded, they don’t walk on egg shells, after going back its been business as usual. Some days it would to be nice to br mollycoddled but then I think I can’t be be the weeping widow I power through and I get on with my day. I am strong woman but sometimes there’s a trigger and I need to come home lock my door and cry, those days are dark but are getting lesser. Thank you for your kind words x

I’m going back to work tomorrow for the first time in 2 months, I’m sort of looking forward to it but dreading it at the same time, all the people I work with will mean well but it’s hearing them say sorry for my loss that’s going to be the hardest to deal with, I don’t want to end up falling apart in front of them, I’ve spoken to one of my managers and I’ve said I’ll do my best but I can’t say I’ll be able to work a full shift, the worst part is coming back to an empty home.
