Hi Jodie that’s just beautiful, this is my second father’s day without my dad, I thought it would be easier this year but it’s not, i miss my dad so much and every day my heart just breaks all over again
I lost my dad 13.06.23 so this is my first Fathers Day without him. Normally he would be sat on his sofa reading the Sunday paper tucking into his bacon sandwich and a cuppa then later on he would drink one of the cans of Guinness I’d bought him. I have never felt loss like this. I keep getting told it will get easier but at the moment i find that hard to believe
Hi Lisa, my heart goes out to you, i miss my dad so much this is my second father’s Day without my dad, i miss him so much, my dad was funny,careing, and had a big heart, he was always there for me and my brother, yes people say it gets easier but everyday my heart breaks that he’s no longer here
Dad died 8/3/23 so this is also my first without him. I’d always give him cakes & biscuits so this year is really hard. Hope everyone in the same position is coping ok. Xx
I am really struggling to accept I will never speak to him ever again. We were incredibly close and like two peas in a pod
Hi i totally know what your going through, my dad died 09/04/23 and this is also my first fathers day without him, it has been immensely painful! I miss him so much, we was so close, u spoke to him at least twice a day, everyday and now i listen to saved voicemails from him so i can hear his voice. Everyone says times a healer but i feel as time is going on i feel worse!
When I lost my Dad, 31 years ago now it completely changed me as a person I was 28 at the time & it took me a long time to find myself again. Looking back I pushed everyone close away because I was scared of feeling that way ever again. Time does make it easier but all this time on I still miss him very much. I wrote the poem actually for our 2 girls after I sadly lost my husband as I knew what it was like to lose a father. As it happened I met my wonderful husband as a consequence of moving back home during my Dad’s illness so something really good came after such sadness.

This is beautiful. I lost my dad almost two weeks ago.
Yesterday my fiancé decided he was going to take me to the seaside to get away for a bit. It was nice to be honest so I wasn’t seeing everyone’s Facebook posts. X
What a lovely fiance, take time for your self, i had grief counseling which helped, but I would talk about my dad all day, my dad passed away before my 60th birthday, i still feel like his little girl and i always will, my partner is very supportive and we talk about dad, i would love a hug from my dad and to hear him say i love you, i have a tape that I found on his video camera, can’t see him apart from his shadow, one day i will watch it and listen to his voice ,
