Feeling Lost

I lost my mum 7 months ago, she passed away at 73 years old, very suddenly and unexpectedly. She had a cardiac arrest, I spoke to her at 16.30 on the phone and we were laughing about an injury that my husband had from taking part in a teachers race at sports day, at 20.30 her partner called to say paramedics were giving her CPR. We lost my dad 16 years ago, I am an only child, I don’t have children, unable to have them but have accepted this, my husband is amazing and very supportive, but I feel so lost, even now, I feel angry and I am getting so frustrated with everyone, I don’t t really know what I am supposed to do. I am so tired of trying to be “ok“ and smiling everyday at work, but I don’t think I am ok,

Hi Laine

I can totally relate to your feelings, I lost my Mam in September and the best advice I can give is to be kind to yourself. If you don’t feel like joining in then don’t, anyone who has been through this horrific experience will understand.

I’m still very much processing everything but I found it very helpful to write her a letter after finding an article about grief online. It was very setting but helped me to process my feelings a little. I hope this helps, take care of yourself.
