I lost my wife on the 4th of September. I had her funeral yesterday I have visited this community before and found some comfort, knowing that other people are going through or will have been through I’m going through now. I was okay yesterday today I feel totally opposite the grief hasn’t eased at all and I’ve shed some tears several times today I tried to take each day as it comes, but the pain of her last exam bearable and seems never ending
Hi Paddy I am sorry to hear about your wife. I found the first three months after my wife died to be the worst. It’s very difficult to believe how painful it is, I don’t think anyone realises just how bad it is until it happens to them. I found doing a lot of exercise helped to get through the worst, being out in nature walking was the only way I could tire myself enough to be able to sleep at night. I hope you have plenty of support from friends and family. Posting here is also beneficial as there are a lot of lovely people who understand the pain of a bereavement. I hope you find some solace here
Wishing you all the best Tom
I do some form of exercise to keep moving. I went out today as being indoors doesn’t help. Just a few laps of the field.I don’t try to suppress any feelings , I just let it happen. This forum has helped as I can see others feel the way I do. I have waves of grief and the smallest things can set me off. We were together 24 years.I’ve found talking to someone always helps.
Hi Paddy I don’t think I had any idea it was possible to cry so much. I still find myself crying when thinking about my wife after nine months. My wife died on Christmas day after two years of cancer treatments. She was 58 when diagnosed with bile duct cancer, it was such a shock. She was slim fit and active never had any medical issues. We had been married 39 years
Wishing you all the best Tom
@Paddy55 You’re right that it’s so helpful to post on here. We’re all experiencing the most awful times that we never imagined and we can all support and help each other.
You can very isolated when you lose the one person who you did everything with.I felt very alone . Then I came on here and realised there are so many of us trying to move forward, without the person they shared every day with.
