Hi, I’m new on here. We lost our son in Feb 2020 to MND. He was aged 33. It’s his anniversary soon. He had two young son’s and they come each weekend to stay over. I always get so sad after they have been as they have no dad. This is something I cannot get over. Their life is very different without their dad.
As well as our own loss which is huge. I also feel this terrible guilt that that don’t have a dad like their friends.
Just thought I’d share my thoughts x

Dear LB1965

Welcome to the Community. I am so sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing your thoughts. No one expects their child to pass before them.

Grief is not something you get over quick and it takes times. You have a lot to cope with as you are staying strong for the grandchildren as well as coping with the loss of your son.

Sue Ryder here has information and support which you may find of help to you.

There are other organisations that can support you and the grandchildren. For further information please email

Please continue to reach out and share your thoughts. We are here to support you.

Take care.
