I lost my husband 3 months ago and people keep telling me I’m coping really well and that I’m amazing - well I’m not. They don’t see me crying 10 times a day over a memory, or a loved possession, or a TV programme we used to watch together. I don’t feel amazing, I feel broken and lost. We were together 36 years and I miss him so much, I’m just getting through each day as if I’m on autopilot, I feel like I’m in limbo without him
I am really sorry for your loss!
I can totally relate to how you are feeling. I am over a year in from losing my beautiful husband, so unexpectedly, I had no idea that he was unwell.
I still feel like I am in limbo, and unbelievably, still think there has been a mistake and he will return, it’s heartbreaking, gut wrenching and a terrible path we have to tread.
Please realise that you are not alone, this grief doesn’t just suddenly subside, it walks alongside us ever day. We loved greatly and so we will grieve greatly. Life will never be the same again, everything changes, including us, and the way we survive.
I’m sending you my love, take care xxx
Hi Flints, what a lovely letter you sent to Littleted.
Sending love in a typed message seems strange, but I do send mine to you and to Littleted. I feel so sorry for your loss. I know what it feels like.
You are both so brave to air and to share your thoughts and feelings. It’s a long time loss for me yet I am only just beginning to share. I’m surprised that somehow it seems easier with folk I don’t even know !
I will try to keep posting,.

Morning Littleted,flints and orange blossom
I’ve been on this site a while now, I lost my husband 9 months ago. I am sorry you’ve joined us in this group no-one wants to join, sorry for your loss.
This group is full of amazing, knowledgeable people, someone here will be along with wise words and advice whenever you need it.
I also searched previous posts for those questions we ask ourselves and don’t want to ask others.
We all have good days and bad, please share, ask questions or just rant. It helps.
Have the best day you can, Helen x
Thank you xx
I think you need to tell everyone that you wear a mask and that you’re not really coping well . Sometimes it suits others if they think you’re doing well, as it makes it easier on them. Maybe just let your closest friends and family know you have really black days. What you’re feeling is normal, don’t let anyone diminish that. I’m six months in after losing my partner of 40 years. I feel lost and lonely although I m coping better with everyday things. The future is scary.
Hi Littleted, our local priest stop me the other day and said the same thing. I told him that obviously crying everyday has its benefits.
Wishing you all the best
