Alan
Today, I found myself looking at your photograph again.
I don’t know how long I sat there for, I just couldn’t bring myself to look away.
I kept staring at your smile, as if I looked long enough you might smile back at me.
Then without realising the tears began to fall, not because I wanted to cry but because I truly miss you.
I miss your voice, your laughter, all of the little things I once took for granted.
The hardest part is knowing that all I have left are your photographs.
I can’t hold you, I can’t hear your voice, I can’t even say I miss you and hope you’ll answer.
If only a photograph could come to life, maybe I wouldn’t feel this unbearably lonely.
Love you for ever xx
Dear Alone
I think you speak for all of us, it sometimes feels impossible to bear. Wishing you a sign that your heard x
Hi Alone
That brought tears to my eyes.
I have a box of old photos of my Paula, which she had kept, sat on my kitchen table. The box has been sat there, unopened, since her funeral. I just can’t bring myself to open it.
Each time I try, I just can’t.
Hi , i made up a collage of photos of my husband, and I look at them everyday, it does make me sad that there wont be any new photos, but I treasure the ones I have…
Hi Lightmary
A collage of photos was what I had planned.
I do have some pictures already. The box contains 30 years of pictures that I hadn’t realised Paula had kept. A lot of the 2 of us.
I really need to open the box and do it. The longer I leave it the worse I will be.
It just hurts to much at the moment.
Not sure why I’ve allowed this to become a thing.
Hi, some of my pictures are also at least 30 years old, we were so young when we got married..he was so handsome

Hi Lucy I made a collage of photos like you but I also bought a digital frame that pops up different photos every time I look at it. I have it in the kitchen and I often think Puri is smiling in one or or another depending on what I’m doing.
Wishing you all the best Tom

Hi Tom, that sounds beautiful
, digital is a good idea.
Hi Lucy it is lovely I have hundreds of photos on it and I often feel she is talking to me through her smiles. I’ll be thinking of something look over and she’ll be lifting her eyes to the ceiling or something in response.![]()

Dear Alone, if only the photo could come alive! Today as I was looking at one of my husbands many pictures which I have throughout our home, an overwhelming sinking realization hit me again that’s he’s physically gone forever. My beautiful husband died 15 months ago. We were together 46 years, boned in love for eternity. My mind never stops ruminating over the thought of how do I live without him, it’s almost impossible. I carry on his legacy for our children and grandchildren, that’s all I can do. I look for signs from him and yes he has sent me some which fill my heart with gratitude. Heart felt condolences to all……![]()
So I finally went through the box of photo’s that hasn’t moved from the kitchen table since Paula’s funeral.
Heartbroken.
She was so beautiful, even as she grew ill, even in her final moments.
Miss her so much.
Now to leave the house, go to work, mix with people. And pretend everything is OK when it’s really not and never will be.
I made photo albums of my brother. I’m glad I did it within the first year as it would hurt again to have to make it now (2.5 years later). I decided I would not add the photos to the album in chronological order as the last pages would be too upsetting, so I mixed them up randomly. Sometimes the little things like that help I think.
Hello Twoflower, im glad you went through your pictures, 30 years worth of pictures is truly remarkable, it is sad, i know going through them, i wish my husband was still here, but hes not, all I have are those precious photos, so I do like looking at them everyday .,hope you find a creative way of displaying them, or pick your favorite and have it enlarged. Or like Tom, his are digital..good luck, and God bless you ![]()
Hi Matt, I know what you mean about the last pictures, . My husband changed so much in just 2 years he looked so different..plus there wasn’t a lot of pictures taken of him in his last few months, there was nothing to celebrate, no reason for pictures.., hope you do find comfort in your photo album..take care and God bless you ![]()
I hadn’t realised she had kept them.
It’s odd how photos that are so old can feel like it was only taken yesterday.
30 years feels like such a long time, but now doesn’t feel long enough.
Am going to put them in a photo album, maybe pick some to frame into a collage.
It takes some getting your head around, for sure. I just hope that time helps us all.
I feel just the same way . 7 months nearly for me.
Hi LucyJack it’s seven months for me on Saturday. Forty years of happiness and it is already feeling so long ago while there are times it feels like yesterday. I hope you have a peaceful week
Wishing you all the best Tom

I feel the same way, Tom. Seems like ages but still so raw. It’s the sadness of knowing he will never be here again. Surely time will help….
