I'm lost

I feel numb and lost without my husband here. He spent the last 5 months of his life in hospital and I miss seeing him each day, catching him up on everything going on and then just sitting with each other, holding hands.
This has been the longest 12 days of my life and I can’t bare thinking about the years ahead of me without him. Our youngest (12) said to me today that he had lost his favourite parent, so he just had me now. That breaks my heart again on many levels.

Hi,
It’s such a hard journey but you will get through each day. So sorry you have to be here, no one wants to and it’s a situation that we all understand and here to support you through it.

@Emwood18 I am so sorry, I can only wish you comfort on this sad road we tread together. I know you’ll be there for your children and please, try to remember to reserve a little kindness for yourself.
One day at a time, the loss remains the same but the pain lessens.

Oh @Emwood18
What a difficult thing to hear from your son on all sorts of levels. Your heart breaks for him, for you twice over and for your husband.

There is no easy way to get though this but having each other does help a bit. At least we understand some aspects of what each other is going through.

My younger daughter, although an adult, has a learning disability so is fairly childlike in some ways. She needed to check with me the night he died, whether someone can really die from a broken heart. She was so worried she would lose me too.

I hope you will find some support on here

Love
