In 8 days it will have been 2 years since losing my dad after his 3 long year battle . i usually push it to the back of my head due to doing this for 5 years now even when he was alive . recently im really struggling with all of my emotions and feel a little bit alone . i’m not alone i just don’t talk to the people around me as i don’t want to upset them. i’m here for you all

Thank you for reaching out. I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. You’re not alone. I’m not sure if you’ve seen our Loss as a young adult category yet. But there you can connect with other members who experienced the loss of a parent, and who will understand some of what you’re going through.

Whether it has been one, five or ten years since the person you’re grieving for died, coping with a death anniversary can bring about new feelings each year. You might find our support page on coping with anniversaries helpful to read as you approach the anniversary of your dad’s loss.
