I lost my nan in march to pancreatic cancer. And she was my best friend we wouldn’t barely go a day without talking and I think as it’s coming up to Christmas I’m just struggling a bit more and missing her a lot more
Hello @Birdy13,
Thank you for so bravely sharing this with the community. I’m so sorry to hear about your nan.
I hope you find the community to be a support to you. Many of our members have experienced the death of their grandparent and will understand some of what you’re going through. I’m not sure if you’ve seen our Losing a grandparent category. But there you will find lots of conversations from other members who are coping with their grief. You may find some comfort in knowing you are not alone.
You may also find these Sue Ryder resources helpful right now.
-
Our Grief Guide self-help platform which has information, resources and advice to help you through your grief
-
Our Bereavement Information pages which can walk you through what you are going through
I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support too. Keep reaching out and take care,
Seaneen
Hi @Birdy13 - firstly I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your Nan
. I lost my beloved Grandad in Feb 2023, this will be my second Christmas without him. I will go the crematorium on Christmas morning and put red and white roses down for him on his memorial tree. It’s still so difficult - just remember it is ok if you don’t feel like celebrating christmas. It’s a feeling that never goes away and to me, something will always be missing now. I’d do anything to see my Grandad again. My family has pretty much gone their own ways since he passed which is also upsetting aswell. I send you so much love x
