I’m so sorry for your loss x

I have no idea when it gets easier. I was my mam’s fulltime carer for many years and on the 13th of this month it will be 4 months since I lost her and I still cry every day. I miss her so much and I am yet to find a way to move past it and see a life without her. My partner is wonderful, but he lost his mum 3 weeks after I lost mine, so he is also grieving as well as worrying about his dad. Some people seem able to move on and get on with life after losing a parent (my partner’s sister is one of those people), but I have no idea how they do it. I hate going out, and even going to the shops once a week is exhausting and stressful. I often cry when I’m out which is becoming a bit embarrassing, but I can’t help the way I feel. Losing my mam has changed who I am, and I believe a huge part of me went with her that I will never get back. I’m taking it one day at a time for now because I feel that’s all I can do at the moment.

So sorry to you both for the loss of your Mums. I am almost four months into the loss of mine and still feels so raw and not real. It’s an indescribable grief losing your Mum and I am just so sorry for everyone that has the feelings I do. I know that community, connection and knowing people understand what it is like is a real help. Sending lots of strength.

Hi @Robyn8 , I’m so sorry about your loss. No words can ever do justice on how you’re feeling. I lost my mum 6 months ago, and the hurt and pain can be relentless and excruciating.

I have just lost my mum on 1st October. She was such a determined lady staying in her own home with carers and my help till she was 98. After a series of falls ahe was sent for respite and hated it. She deteriorated so quickly. I had been with her the day before she passed which was a blessing. I cant stop crying and reliving it all constantly thinking I could have done more.
