No celebration for me

I lost my partner suddenly on 5th April he collapsed and died of a heart attack in our living room, and just over 7 months later my dad ended up in icu and there was nothing more they could do for him so advised me to turn off the life support machines, it was the worst thing I have ever had to do, he passed on 12 November, the funeral is on Friday 9th Dec, I took care of my mum who suffered from dementia and she passed 5 years ago, my dad my partner and myself all lived together along with my 22 yr old daughter, I have ptsd from the death of my partner and now losing my lovely dad has just made me feel lost in my grief how do I get through all of this? I just don’t know

Hello @jojojohnson,

I’m so sorry to hear about your partner and following that your dad. It sounds as though things are very challenging for you at the moment and you are feeling lost in all your grief.

I’m glad that you’ve been able to share how you are feeling here and I hope that you find the community a good source of support. Everyone here has experienced the loss of a loved one and will understand some of what you are going through.

I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I wanted to share a few Sue Ryder resources with you that may help you right now.

We know that Christmas can be a very difficult time of year when we are grieving. We have an article on Coping with grief at Christmas which might be helpful.

Take care - keep reaching out,
