Over 4 years on

Nearly 4 and a half years after my daughter Regan’s brutal, senseless and cowardly murder we have had 4 pre inquest, the last one being the 6th Sept this year which resulted in yet another pre inquest being called for due to lack of disclosures once again not being handed in by the person’s of interest, ie GMP, 18 months on from when they were first requested to by the coroner and also to cross disclose with all the other persons of interest but refused. We now have to wait till 12th Jan 2024 for the 5th pre inquest with a date set for the full inquest of 8th July 2024, over 5 since my daughters murder, and will be over 3 weeks and an article 2 hearing in front of a jury. It is an absolute disgrace we have had to wait so long when the first pre inquest was nearly 4 years and was set for an article 2 inquest back then, the most serious inquest you can have in a coroners court. Until my daughters full inquest is concluded at the end of July 2024 we can’t begin to grieve but every time we have a pre inquest it brings the painful memory of her loss back to all the family.

I’m so sorry about Regan, @DaveT69, and that you and your family can’t begin to grieve because of these delays.

Hopefully someone will be along to offer their support, but I just wanted you to know you have been heard.

Take good care

I am so sorry that you’re going through this dreadful time.
I lost my son on 1st November 2022 and the pain is unbearable but I can’t imagine how you must be feeling over losing a child in such a horrible way.
My thoughts are with you and I really hope that there is a resolution for you in the future and that you can begin to heal.
