I know the feeling. I used to create enthusiastically and share creative thoughts with my son. I have no desire to do anything since losing him 3 months ago. I would love to see more of your work. Share here. :two_hearts:

Hi there Misprint
Such lovely paintings. Please try to find the will to start again. Not only will it be therapeutic to you it will be a great help to you body and soul.
I do know what you mean though. I had our allotments, somewhere my husband really loved to be. How was I to possibly continue without him I asked myself when I visited a few days after losing Brian but for him I made the effort and a million tears later I am so pleased I did as it has helped me enormously. I did yoga and dance but couldn’t even get started for a few months but slowly the enthusiasm came back and it really helped me. I used to make preserves with our fruit but thought I would never do this again. Who was there to eat it except for me. This year I suddenly found I wanted to do it again. I had thrown all my jars and baking tins out so I am having to re stock. So hang in there and the love of painting will return.
My husband was a painter and I would like to think he would have continued.
You are obviously blessed with a wonderful talent so don’t wasre it and give up, just give yourself time to start to heal.

@Misprint Don’t worry about temporarily losing your motivation, I think it’s all part of the grieving process, You have a real talent, your motivation will return. Indeed, there will come a time when getting involved in a project of any sort becomes a very valuable distraction. Although I went to art college, I can neither draw nor paint, my creativity, such as it is, going into art metalwork.
Although retired when my wife died, I still worked for my own pleasure and like you lost all stimulus after her death. Now ten months on I’m desperate to work, anything to occupy my mind.
Your work has a real charm, do not fear, you will pick it up again

They are lovely @Misprint, you are really talented. Those felt toys are gorgeous, too. I find that keeping my mind occupied doing something creative is very therapeutic, a good way to let it all out, releasing all that pain we have inside, trying not to think too much. I’ve never been good at drawing or painting (my husband was, though) , so I thought I’d try something crafty instead. I bought one of those model house DIY home kits, and to my surprise I managed to complete it. I even did the wire-connecting for the lights, thanks to my beloved husband, as I remembered what I had learned from watching him DIYing with electrical stuff.
I’ll try and send a picture, but I’m not too ‘technological’ either.

Hi @Skip, I bought this home kit through internet, on Amazon. I’m sorry I don’t know how to send links, but if you look up “Cute bee miniature house DIY kits” you’ll find a wide range to choose from.
