Sorting through clothes

This is the second time i being asked to sort through my mums clothes i have said no the 1st time, and again today i get told to sort through the clothes when i go up there this week, so they can take to the charity shop, just dont know if i can look through it yet, the thought of it is breaking my heart. :broken_heart: i dont want to look through the clothes dont know how i will be able to do it or manage. Everything is just going fast. Will no longer have the scent of mum on clothes.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your lovely mum. I lost my dad a few weeks ago and my mum last year. We have to go through clothes and it’s so hard- so many memories and scents. Do you have to do it now or can her clothes not be bagged up for you to go through when you’re ready to?

My dad wants it doing now. Might just ignore it and put it off

My only question would be if you put it off, how would you feel if you come home one day and find your Dad has given everything away because he wants them gone? Everyones grief is different and whilst it may be too painful for you right now to sort through your Mums clothes, it might be too painful for your Dad seeing them there everyday. :people_hugging: Is there an option to just bag everything up and store it all at your house/ a friends loft as a temporary measure? Then you sort through them at a pace you’re happy with.
