Watching archive tv..

Watching old comedy programmes like rising damp and Mildred and George or steptoe and son can make you laugh…Don’t make programmes like that anymore…It’s good to have a giggle with times so hard…

You are so right. These programmes are innocent and harmless. It is difficult to find something to watch that does not include something that will evoke sadness. These old classics are invaluable for this.

From a mother of the Great War,

“My son was killed while laughing at some jest. I would I knew
What it was, and it might serve me in a time when jests are few”

(Rudyard Kipling. Epitaphs of the War 1914-1918)
