Hi just in case anyone is not aware you may be entitled to claim Bereavement Benefit which is a lump sum payment & monthly amount for 18 months. It is not means tested & based on the deceased national insurance record. It’s worth trying to claim it . Alison

If I am understanding it correctly, the survivor has to be under state pension age in order to claim.

Sadly i cannot claim this as me and my partner were not married or in a civil partnership even though we were together over 15 years and have an 11 year old daughter it jusy isnt right i think if you have been wirh someone for a few years tou should be entitled
