OMG Kate that is quite something x
Omg Kate thankyou x
Hi heather-Diane, I have also found poetry a way of coping through my grief. I have read lots of poems but also found that by writing them I too can express my grief. That is a lovely poem and the words will ring true to anyone who has lost their lover/partner/best friend. I can certainly relate to most. I hope it brought you a little bit of peace knowing you are not alone.

Iâve read this poem before but I love this manâs voice reciting it. It made me cry but then I knew it wouldâŚ
Bloody hell Kate what are you trying to do to me x
If you have any more of these please issue a warning to have a box of tissues at the ready. Iâm glad it wasnât a female voice or I would have needed two boxes of tissues!!
Omg Kate, Iâm in tears, his voice aswell x
KateâŚyou have not lost your touchâŚyou get me every timeâŚcoming up to three years without my beautiful manâŚforever mine. Love and understanding, xx
The day they left us was the saddest day, I have no doubt they saw our tears and pain. I also know they remain with us, locked away in our hearts.
This one is for my Nanna ââ
âDeath Is Nothing At Allâ
Death is nothing at allâŚ
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are youâŚ
Whatever we were to each other that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone;
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort, without the ghost of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
there is absolutely unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just round the corner.
All is well.
Thank you San,x
This poem was read at my wifeâs funeral.
Look For Me In Rainbows
Time for me to go now, I wonât say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.
Time for me to leave you, I wonât say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and Iâll be close to you.
It wonât be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again.
Time for us to part now, we wonât say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment, and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.
Just wish me to be near you,
And Iâll be there with you.
Thatâs beautiful Al2020. I wrote my own poem for my husbandâs funeral but maybe one day when I am a bit stronger I will share it with everyone.

Thank you so much, these are some of the most beautiful words which I have ever read. I love rainbows, they are so spiritual, I have a small lapel pin which I have placed in front of Stanâs photograph.
Shonzie,
I would love to read your poem which you wrote, when you are strong enough, early days yet. x
