Can anyone share their experience of how to cope in the same circumstances
Hello @Georgiamij, thanks for reaching out. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad. Most of our members have sadly lost a loved one and will understand some of what you are going through. I really hope you find the community to be a support to you.
I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I wanted to share a few resources with you. Are you in touch with National Association of Children Of Alcoholics (NACOA) at all? They offer support to people who have been affected by their parent’s drinking. They have a helpline on 0800 358 3456 or you can email helpline@Nacoa.org.uk. They also have a support section here.
Adult Children of Alcoholics also runs support groups. If you are interested in finding out more, you can visit their website.
@Shaz69 was starting a peer support group for people who have lost loved ones to addiction - she has a thread here: Lost a loved one to addiction?
