I’ve done coach holiday with leger and now have 3 more solo ones booked. Im going away for the new year to Brussels, Dec 2nd. I go to German christmas markets with them and june 2026 Spain all on their solo tour holidays.
Do youmind me asking how long youve been on your own ?

2 years on 22nd july. I went to york on my own 6 months after Rob passed then Bavaria 10 months after. I found going away helped me as I had promised Rob I would continue to travel
Its just 6 months for me too .
Ive been to rome withmu daughter which was lovely .and we are going to palma in September.
So im lucky .
But in future we might not have 2 holidays .because she has a lovely partner .
So i will consider going alone .
I have a few friends but going away is a different thing.
I dont want a pity holiday either xx
I love going solo as meet new people, its not the same as with your partner but I’ve decided to make the most of what life I have left.

I really admire you.you have a good attitude.
When the time is right for me i will do the same .
Some days i have felt like staying in bed but i know my husband wouldnt want me to waste my time left like this .

I went with a friend on one holiday but I’ve found solo ones are more interesting, I have to speak to people and go out of my way to sit with others so it takes me out of my comfort zone. I am looking at Monets Garden in March with Leger. I’m only 62 but the age range is great some in 50s and then upto late 80s so is good fun meeting a wide range of people not all widowed so the conversations are varying
