Lovely songs, but I won’t be listening

Hi @Broken2222
I hope you’re ok
I thought I was coping well with Christmas stuff and adverts etc.
Then while I was in a shop this morning ’ The Carpenters , Merry Christmas Darling ’
Came on the radio.
I cried. In the shop.
It’s always been one of my favourites. Now another I can’t listen too.

3 more heartbreakers x x
Morning @ liro , that must of been terrible for you , we know the triggers that will get to us , so try to avoid them . But when one attacks us unexpectedly, its just heartbreaking .
I dont do xmas now , no tree or cards and make a sunday dinner on xmas day . I just think whats the point , the one person I want to spend the time with isnt here . Its very hard trying to avoid it all , especially at work , but i manage best i can .
I know the last few years , on this site on xmas eve , we all light a candle at 7 pm on xmas eve , for all our loved ones . Hopefully it happens this year as well . It does bring a bit comfort .
Sending hugs x
Morning @Broken2222
Thankyou.
I’ve realised I can deal with Christmas Stuff but not some of the songs. Ive got to go to town today and I’m dreading what music will be being played
I will definitely light a candle with you all.
It’s a lovely thing to do
I light candles in Church and I light 2 every evening, 1 by our wedding photo and 1 by a photo of Roger walking away
Love and hugs Liz x x
Hi @Jianye
Havnt heard this song for years ,ot was out when me and Chris firsts courting ( very old word lol)
Thank you for posting it
After those first few absolutely awful months after Penny died, I had already decided I needed to be positive and make my new life as fulfilling as I could possibly make it.
A friend said, why not come and join our choir? So I did, this was a brave decision because I’d been telling myself for 65 years I couldn’t sing!!! Fate took a hand in that they met every week for practice in an old pub, which was where I first cast my gaze on Penny, I saw her and thought “she’s for me!!!” Maybe that was a good sign.
I found it was a 40 or 50 strong 4-part harmony choir, and after a couple of weeks I was soon in the swing of it, making new friends, and enjoying every minute.
We were singing lots of wonderful songs, one of which I’ve always thought of as my personal anthem on my new journey, and I play it often!!
Dreams are essential, this perhaps explains why I’ve done things like potholing etc.
This isn’t us (we are all about 50 years older) but it gives a good idea of what it is like to perform it!
Hi,
This is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing it and also your journey
