A few days ago, I posted a photograph of myself, my mum and dad, it is the customary photo of our armed forces who had a family photo taken whilst the soldier was on embarkation leave, shortly before he went overseas. My mum and dad loved music, a love passed on to me, together with my little brother and little sister, mum used to buy the Melody Maker, an up to date type of newspaper which used to give the new releases of records.
She used to send it to my dad, when we knew where he was, he would mark out the records he would like her to order, he was a jazz fan, this process took going on for a year or more, both of them loved Bing Crosby, an American crooner. The song which I am posting is one which my dad ordered via my mum, we went to the record shop time and time again, until finally it was in stock.
Irving Berlin wrote the lyrics and the melody.

This song makes me smile. I have a love hate relationship with it. It was top of the charts when David and I first got together. I was never a Rick Astley fan and I hated this track but everywhere we went it seemed to be playing. Neither of us liked it but ironically it became our song. I still dislike it now but watching the video made me laugh out loud.
