I know it’s hard to get your head round. Mum used to worry about her health so much and I used to say “your bloody healthier than me”. Well she proved me wrong. The little bugger. X
I used to say exactly the same. ’ You will outlive us all’ I used to say and I feel I let her down by making her think she was really healthy when actually she was a walking timebomb.
Maybe I should have told her mum you dont look great or should you see a doctor? But honestly thought she was fine apart from starting to slow down and show her age a bit x
Hello Kate I don"t know how to Thank you enough for putting our song on this site. It was my Dad who heard it first and told me and my Ron about it well over 50 years ago. I play it at home and dance with my Ron"s photo and of course the tears flow but I love dancing with him to it. Thank you once again. Love and hugs to you, xxx Carol xxx
Hello Kate again I forgot to say the song was out just before we got married and the words say it all. Thank you once again xxxxx Carol. xxxx
Dear Carol, it was my pleasure to post your song. Keep dancing and singing with your Ron. Much love xx
This was played as my husband entered the church, it was a song with special meaning and yesterday it was sung by many including me He was and still is indeed ‘Simply the best’
Great song. Did you know there is a rose called “simply the best” I bought one in memory of my husband it’s beautiful
Unhappy 127
Hello, Kate, thank you for this very moving song, I love listening to Bruce. The words are beautiful.
Love,
Mary. x
That’s lovely Unhappy 127. There’s some wonderful roses available. My nephew’s bought me a David Austin rose called ‘Remember Me’.
It’s a beautiful salmon colour
I be also got a red rose named thinking of you. I will take a look out the Website for your rose. I did actually take some cuttings of each road & hooray they have taken ! Hope they continue to grow x
I love David Austin’s roses Kate, and I really like Remember Me, as if we could forget. x
I went to see ‘The Sounds of Springsteen’ a tribute band earlier and they sang this…I cried
There has been so much great songs in this thread.
Some of which have brought me to tears remembering my Old Dad. Miss you, by the Rolling Stones has pretty much been on repeat since the shocks wore off.
Pink Floyd was someone special to my Dad. I never got it growing up, his songs were too ‘long and hippie’ I used to say, not making much sense of it.
However picking out my Dads songs for his service, I came across this one. I can actually remember my Dad putting it on to show me and my Grandma and going on about this woman’s voice. I now get it. What a beautiful piece of music that brings me to tears every time. Written for someone they lost in their band, it was so fitting.
Just for my Dad, probably his all time favourite band. We used to sing this together forever closer to my heart, Pops. Missing you so much today, more than yesterday but not as much as tomorrow xx
