6 weeks since my youngest daughter passed

Hello,

I’m not sure I have the words or know what to say other than I’m truly heartbroken. It’s been 6 weeks today since my daughter passed away. The circumstances resulting in her passing haunt me every day. The palliative care.. they couldn’t even get that right. I so desperately want to know she’s ok now and can forgive me for not being able to save her. The NHS failed her so much. I was her carer for 18 years as she has Down syndrome and now I’m completely lost. I don’t recognise my life anymore. She gave me purpose and so much love, fun, happy times. She was/is beautiful. She broke barriers and paved the way for inclusion in the modelling industry. It’s so hard trying to stay strong for my other children. I don’t want them to think they can’t keep living their lives, feeling and experiencing happiness. Jeeze it’s exhausting. I feel so very sad. I’ve never known pain like it.

Hello Jen. So very sorry for the loss of your precious daughter..losing a loved is definitely the worst pain we can feel, with no relief in site, only time, as we begin to slowly try and move on with our lives. I lost my beautiful husband in March, we’d been married 35 years, and his loss has left me completely heartbroken :broken_heart:. Having to live on my own now without him has been very difficult and lonely. I have 2 adult children and 2 grandkids, who i adore, they are my reason for living..but without one’s soul mate, its very lonely.. ..and you hafta remain strong, for your other children..take care of yourself and may God bless you and your family.:folded_hands:

I’m sorry you know this pain too. Hugs right back to you. :people_hugging:

I’m so sorry that you are carrying this pain too. My daughter died 3 months ago. She had Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus- the NHS failed her as well. She died suddenly and I understand the feeling of being lost but having to be there for your other children. I haven’t got anything figured out but I’m just trying to take each day as it comes. My thoughts are with you. I wish I had some wisdom to share.

I’m deeply sorry for your huge loss Catherine. The weight of knowing our beautiful loved daughters were failed makes it so much more difficult and that alone carries a wave of emotions we have to navigate. I will keep your daughter and you and your family in my thoughts and prayers and who knows maybe us connecting could mean our girls can connect in the spirit world and be good friends.

Sending you love

Jen
