at a loss

Hi Mikey,

Stayed at a chalet in a woodland setting and watched the wildlife from the window. Squirrels, rabbits, bats and lots of birds.
Was very relaxing and peaceful.

Went to the beach near it and had a car picnic and people watched!

Hope you managed to do something

Aww that sounds lovely.

I went to church this morning, then cooked a Sunday roast dinner (first one in a long, long time).

Can’t beat a Sunday roast Mikey.
Well done on making it

Deborah

I can imagine that feels like enough! I’m not at that point yet, I’m looking for work right now, we’ll see how that goes.

I have my car at the repair shop this week, so it has been difficult to find stuff to distract myself, but I’ve done some stuff outside and in the garden.

Hi Ulma,

That’s what I do. Potter about in the garden and do smallish jobs in the house. It helps to be distracted.
I have a few Christmas fayres booked in and that’s it. I don’t want too many or too much hard work.
It’s just something to help me get myself out of the house and meet people.
Good luck with the job hunting. I am sure you will find something.

Well hello everyone.

Im glad that you have found these wonderful people Mikey.

two and a half years since I lost mum and every morning I hear her voice when she woke up and I had arrived for the weekend stints at her house.

Today I spent all day avoiding life just like I did way back in the beginning, Not sure that can be right. Not sure at all.

Hi Olive,

Do lovely to hear from you again.

The last couple of years have flown past for us all so I understand how you feel.

I often ask myself " how have I reached this far? " It’s been millions of tiny steps making bigger steps and literally taking each day as it comes and listening to my body every day.
If it’s a crying day I cry. If I have a glimpse of a happier day I make the most of it. Most are days that I just call survival days and become some sort of actress and become a different person just to suit others.

Whatever we do at least we are trying to get through our grief the best way we can so that’s enough. And we should be so proud of ourselves x

Sending love to you.

:waving_hand: So good to hear from you again. I don’t know if its right or wrong, but it’s a way to survive. I try very hard to avoid being in the here and now, maybe that’s similar. Many hugs. :people_hugging:

Avoiding life is sometimes what we need Olive - i prefer to think of it as a temporary ā€œhibernationā€ from the outside world, and its certainly something I do too. Sometimes its wise to take a step back and care for ourselves, if we didnt then the consequences would probably be even worse. So if you need to hibernate/have a survival day, go ahead! :people_hugging:

Hi Olive,

I dont know whats happened but I am thinking of you.
Be easy on yourself. Its ok to be angry. We all go through times of all sorts of emotions.
Hope you feel better soon

Hi I think i have figured out why m emotionw took me by surprise.

Mum died in April 24 seems like yesterday and I never felt anything other than giult shame and sadness, since that day. So angry was new to me, most of the time I dont feel anything at all.

Grief changes you so much

Hi Olive,

It definitely changes every aspect of your life !!

Time although doesn’t solve it , has helped me to reflect, think about things, fathom things out , adjust and given me moments of strength to carry on.

It’s been a very long and hard 4 years !!!
