Sorry for not seeing the probably obvious but my Dad passed away yesterday and I was trying to find what financial help my Mum can get - I could see one for parents with children and without but unsure what is available for a woman in her 70s?
Any help sure would be appreciated.

So sorry to hear about your dad. Both you and your mum’s heads must be all over the place and it’s hard to navigate everything.
Your mum is entitled to bereavement support payment. There is an initial payment of £2500 and up to 18 months of £100. To claim online go to GOV.UK. You’ll need her NI number and your dad’s NI number plus her bank account number for payments.

I was under state pension age when my husband died but my mum has informed me that she didn’t receive it when my dad died as she was over state pension age. She thinks there are cases where widows have received a higher state pension so you will still need to contact them. Sorry for the misinformation earlier, I just went by what I got at 63. Hope you manage to sort it all out.
