A while back someone had posted that they couldnt claim this because they werent married to their partner who died. It looks like there was a change in Feb 2023 and people can claim back dated money they are due, but the deadline fir claim is Feb 2024.
I don’t have children and I can only imagine how tough it must. Its pretty disgusting there is such a tight timescale and that it hasn’t been widely publicised. I hope this can help someone xx

Stillhiswife.i was turned down within 24 hours of applying for widows bereavement fund because supposedly my late gorgeous beautiful wife sue hadn’t got enough national insurance contributions. I think its a disgrace
