Best friend has died.

My best friend died last week and it’s hit me hard. I’m struggling to see any purpose in work (that’s how I met her) and I feel anxious just stepping into the building.
Work managers don’t seem aware of how this has affected her close friends.
I feel numb, empty and hopeless.

Hello @WolfAlice,

Thank you for reaching out. I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend. Your loss is very recent, it’s completely understandable that you’re feeling so numb and empty.

I’m so sorry to hear you’re not getting the understanding and support you need from work. If you and her friends felt able to, you might want to speak to your managers about the impact of your best friend’s death. Our Grief Kind campaign may be helpful to share with them. You deserve care and support.

You are not alone - sadly, many of our members have experienced the death of a friend. @Beautifulbumblebee has also recently lost her best friend - you may understand some of what each other are going through.

You might find also find these Sue Ryder resources helpful.

I’m sure someone will be along to share their support, but I wanted to let you know you’ve been heard and you are not alone.
