Best friend

Ive lost my best friend of 32 years to lung cancer February this year, shes out of pain now but the hurt still really hurts.
I live on my own so have time to think, I still have a cry now and again and I’m trying to get on with life but I’m finding it difficult

Hello Paulinr53

I’m part of the Online Community team and I can see that you are new to the community - I’m so sorry to hear about your best friend. It sounds like it feels really raw for you right now, and I want you to know you are not alone. Most community members have sadly experienced the death of a loved one and so will understand some of what you are going through.

I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I wanted to share a few Sue Ryder resources with you that might be helpful.

I really hope you find the community helpful and a good source of support and I also hope you feel you can access more support should you need it.

Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out, the community is here for you.

Take care, Rhi

Hi Paulinr53. February was just a few short months ago. It’s no time at all to get over the loss of someone close like that. I’m sorry you are suffering like the rest of us, but please take some comfort from the fact that you are among friends here who understand how hard it is and who are also struggling.
