Agree a lot of life is down to putting in the effort, opportunity and luck 
Nobody will come knocking at your door, you have to make the effort to get out there, join walking clubs, social clubs, find interests, etc where there are like minded people . You may not be ready to do anything quite yet but little steps, having a dog is a great way of meeting people, especially women with dogs, I could never walk past a dog owner without saying hello to them and their dog
Thank you for your reply. But my dog was attacked last year . And is now very weary of other dogs. The only people I walk my dog with is people who my dogs known from been a puppy and they are all married
