Birthday cards

Eldest granddaughter s birthday next week and I got her card in Sainsbury’s and had a meltdown because it’s just me picking it and will be just me sending it. I HATE this

I lost my dear husband in January and have had to buy cards for two sons, grandson, granddaughter and daughter-in-law. It’s awful and it didn’t get any easier each time.
I’m dreading Christmas. I am possibly going to also put ‘always remembering …….’

@BobY I remember a few weeks after my husband passed away having to write my grandsons birthday card. It was heartbreaking to just put my name on it. Doesn’t seem such a big thing but it was HUGE for me at the time. Sending hugs.

I’ve had several birthdays in our family since he died in January and still signed from us both.

@BobY bless you my love it’s so hard . My son doesn’t even want any cards this month for his birthday. I understand him I didn’t want mine 6 days after funeral . It’s all so wrong for us all

My Dad died just weeks before mine & my mum still wrote love mum & Dad. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way & tbh, I think I’ll still buy a mum & Dad one at Christmas.
