Hello @Lou19791 ,

I’m part of the Online Community team and I can see that you are new to the community - I’d like to thank you for bravely starting this thread and sharing how you are missing your dad so much. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Most community members have sadly experienced the death of a loved one and so will understand some of what you are going through.

I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support. In the meantime, you may wish to look at these Sue Ryder resources which might be helpful.

You might also find this Sue Ryder article of help. Take a read when you feel ready. Losing a parent - coping with the death of a parent | Sue Ryder

I really hope you find the community helpful and a good source of support and I also hope you feel you can access more support should you need it.

Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone.

Take care,

Alex

Sorry for you loss, i lost my darling husband to cancer on 7th November 2024, he was 57 years old,ive been left alone as we had no children and feel that my future has ended, we had plans and dreams but, i cant seem to face thinking of the future, its like my life stopped at 8pm on 7th November.
At his funeral we had donations for the christie , i went down the other day and found it so hard and very emotional as we had done the christie trips so many times over 2 years. My life is changed now and its a lonely one, nothing will ever fill the void my darling husband has left.

Do you use the Charity’s at your disposal ? It’s important you use the services, it does help and you find other people understand. I was at Maggie’s yesterday and spoke to a guy who lost his partner. It’s important to tell people how you feel, you really not on your own. You might be able to get counseling and help with finances too

I do speak with 2 close friends, one if which goes to cancer support group ascshes getting over breast cancer and has saud i can speak to any of their counsellirs or just come to group.
I go back to work soon and so will then try and focus on moving forward

Probably be other things you can do too ?
