How do i carry on at work when my mother has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Knowing i have a short time with my mother and wanting to spend every precious minute with her, but i still have to go to work, dont i…only found out yesterday so i am still on shock and sorry if im not making any sense.

So sorry to hear this. This is exactly where society is all wrong. If you become a carer and work you get little support and if you stop working you don’t get enough money to live off. I had to give up work to look after my husband and 2 young kids. Thankfully his work are still paying him full pay but that’s bound to stop soon. Have you spoken to your employers?
