Hi everyone,
My mom passed 3 & a half years ago, this year my dad has said he’s thinking of putting up Christmas decorations, , the last time we put up decorations was the last Christmas we spent with mom, she was very badly ill, at that time dad drank heavily every day, he still drinks every day, but not as much as he did, I have a lot of bad memories of Christmas in his house. I know it’s been years now since she passed, but it just doesn’t feel right to put up Christmas decorations there without her.
That must be difficult. Perhaps you could put up different decorations or start a new tradition in your Mums honour? That way it can be the same but different

I’m sorry this is a difficult time for you. I’ve recently lost my brother and this will be the first Christmas without him and I don’t really feel like celebrating either.
I’ve seen some decorations which you can get engraved with a name to remember someone. Perhaps you could get something like that to remember your mum. That way she will be part of your celebrations and new tradition of hanging her decoration on the tree.
Take care
M
