Hi all those festive season feels emptier and less meaningful for me since my mum passed away age 68 from end stage cancer in May 2025. The lights on my Christmas tree remain switched off and the decorations just feel put up to put a front on and be like everyone else at Christmas time. I only have memories of Christmas past with my mum when I was younger from childhood to adulthood. When I lived at home we did not always get on but moving out gave me my independence in 2024 ages before she became unwell. I feel like I am old at 42 with no belief in Christmas deep down inside as all I want is to be in the Stockport Guild Hall motown soul events with her dancing the night away and feeling carefree.
