I have lost my sister, uncle and mum in the last 6 months and finding it difficult. My mum and uncle were older but my sister passed relatively young and it seems so unjust. Then I feel bad for thinking that as my mum and uncle are just as important. I have signed up for counselling but still on the list. Is it worth doing? Has anyone found it useful and what does it actually involve as not something I have done before? Thank you
Hello @LadyJa,
I can see you’re new to the community. I hope you find it to be a support, but I’m so sorry for the losses that bring you here.
Hopefully someone will be along to share their thoughts. I’ve done a search for conversations about counselling. Here’s a list of previous topics, which might be helpful to read to learn more about other members’ experiences.
Take good care and keep reaching out,
Seaneen
I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my parents within 3 months of eachother, both young, to cancer in 2023. I had counselling 9 months after and initially it worked for what I wanted out of it (to push out bad memories) but now 2 years on, I need help in other ways e.g. how to cope with missing them etc. Grief counselling doesnt last forever so I would suggest ongoing counselling for however long you need it. I am going to do this as the 6 sessions I had certainly helped. Thinking of you and here to chat. K
