CREATING A SHRINE FOR MY MAM

The funks have slightly lifted since this morning.

I watched the entire series of Snowflake Mountain today so it’s definitely been a productive one!

I still haven’t eaten today, just had my dad on the phone telling me off so I should really make something.

Hope everyone is doing ok this evening.

Hi Neil,
Don’t want to dismiss your hard day today and fact that the equipment has to be returned must be a bit bittersweet…knowing it has to go back and actually going back are two different things x

I came home from a great weekend to find a letter addressed to mum which took my breath away a little as thought I had dealt with it all x

However I love your confidence and belief that the better days will return and that to me is inspiring so thank you x

Hope you feel better tomorrow but I know Tuesday/Wednesday can often be a bit hard.
Either way here for you xx

What is this Snowflake thing you are all watching on Netflix? x

You working again tomorrow?
I’m still on hols but need to go to work tomorrow as the manager is off sick and we have a new start that someone needs to see to x

Hope you sleep well xx

Hi everyone,
Monday hasn’t been a good day for most, I was bit down this morning, also annoyed at an email sent last Friday, after 28 years now we are not allowed to wear sandels in the summer at work.
Weird how small things really annoy me now, don’t even go there on tennis :tennis: I’m like you Beki not a fan. Missed the first part of Sherwood as they change channels. I call Wimbledon, two weeks of torture. I apologize to all the fans.

On a more positive note I saw the red arrows last Thursday, they flew over Higham Ferrers, did you have a better day Nic with your little one home from nursery.

I love the film Frozen Suzanne, my youngest granddaughter got me interested in it. Glad you had a lovely weekend, I love the natural history museum, not so keen on the science museum.

I don’t drink either Tina, I just don’t like the taste of alcohol, if I have wine I add lemonade to make it taste better. I’ve only ever been drunk twice once on my eighteenth birthday and the other time accidentally. At a friend’s house for dinner served different drinks with every course. Doug is a happy and giggles when he had too much to drink, I’m just get dizzy and through up.

Neil I’m sorry your having a bad day, I know your not looking forward to tomorrow when your mum’s wheelchair goes. Keep looking forward to you next trip out. I went back to see my GP today, even though I’m doing silver cloud through talking therapies on line, she want me to go to Cruse for counseling.

Lucy I hope the walk with your dogs lifted you day, it’s always nice to have a friend round.

Hi @christine51, hope we hear from you soon, sending hugs.

I hope I haven’t missed anyone off, let’s hope tomorrow is a better day for all of us.

Just ordered some summer shoes for work, to be honest I didn’t need much of an excuse for new shoes :high_heel::high_heel: but not heels I would fall off and break an ankle.

Love to you all

I feel for you Suzanne getting that letter, I had one on Saturday address to Mr & Mrs. It was from the housings association , it took them 6 months to change the tenancy to just my name, now well over a year later they still add Doug’s name. I give up. X X

Hi Debbie,
Ok so why have they suddenly changed to a no sandals policy after all this time?? If they are concerned about Health and Safety then they are a bit late in caring lol x The pencil pushers who come up with all these ludicrous rules should join the real world lol x

Yeah silly wee things like that do often take you by surprise probably cause you maybe have temporarily pushed things to the back of your memory :woman_shrugging: x

I had never been to the Natural history museum before and because I love crystals and gemstones :gem: it was amazing x

I was never a massive fan of the film Frozen tbh but I really enjoyed it and as I may have said the effects were outstanding and mum was a big Olaf fan so felt she was watching with me x

Sleep well and will chat tomorrow after work xx

Hi Suzanne,

I felt better after walking the dogs, always helps. I’m off this evening, back in on Wednesday. Was supposed to have a friend staying tonight but he’s unwell.

It does hit you once you stop being busy. Green Day will be amazing! Where are you seeing them?

I hope you do too x

Yes working tomorrow and Wednesday. Next week I might try a full week.

Week after that will take at least one day off as a friend from schooldays whose brother died two days after mum is coming down to visit.

Snowflake Mountain is funny. One of those reality shows where a bunch of entitled, pampered 20 somethings think they are going to be on one of those luxury villa, fly on the wall shows. Nope, their parents have nominated them and they are sent to camp in the Lake District, to fend for themselves etc.

Granddad was very quiet today when we face timed. He said he’s just looking forward to coming to stop because I am all he is bothered about. Think it’s really weighing on him that’s it’s just us two now (bar some of mums cousins who look out for me but again aren’t living close). He’s 81 and I think he worries for when he goes or needs help. But you know what as we’ve all learned you don’t know what is around the corner, one day at a time. The other day he did say he bought my Christmas present already as saw something and thought ‘perfect’.

Hope your day back in work tomorrow goes well.

Hope you get a good nights rest Lucy. I tend to go to bed with the tele or a podcast on a timer.

It takes a little getting used to being on your own but when you have pets you never really are. Pippin cat has to come to bed with each night, my furry guardian angel!

Thank you, I hope you get a good nights rest too. I’ve taken to sleeping with the tv on for a bit of background noise, usually end up turning it off half asleep!

I’d be lost without my dogs, they’ve always come to bed with us so it’s a lovely comfort. They used to go between me and mum so I’ve got them both all the time now, less room but I can’t complain!

Seeing them tomorrow At Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. Last time we were meant to see them they cancelled hours before cause of the rain making the stage unsafe and then obviously covid hit so been waiting for like three years for this concert lol x

Hope work goes well for you tonight and sorry to hear about your friend being unwell xx

Oh wow so it’s been a long time coming! I bet you can’t wait to see them then, I bet they are amazing live.

No work tonight, back in tomorrow. My brother is coming round tonight so I’m cooking him dinner.

Hope you are having a good morning.

How was last night @LucyF90? I got quite a good nights sleep eventually and when I did wake would find I had a cat cuddled into me somewhere!

I have woken up with mini-funks again, so I’ll take that as a mini win! Lots happening at work today and meeting with my director at 3pm so that is keeping me quite busy

Granddad called this morning, which was a momentary panic as doesn’t usually phone then but he wanted to let me know he’d been to his doctors check up. They taken blood tests etc and his blood pressure is fine but what he was really calling for was me to walk him through posting a thank you message for his birthday wishes on Facebook!

@NEILB72 thinking of you today as I know Tuesdays are tough and they will be picking up the equipment today. It will be an emotional day but know we are here for you.

@Suzanne30 Green Day will be brilliant!

@Debbie57 I am already bored of hearing about Wimbledon lol!!

@nicnic hope the funks are easing!

@Tina19 will take some more garden pictures later. And erm yes, the inside of the house still needs cleaning - especially as Granddad arrives on Thursday.

@christine51 sending a MASSIVE hug and hope all is okay. We are thinking of you and hope you can check in when you feel ready xx

Hi Beki,

Had a pretty good sleep, work up with the morning funks though. Spoke to a doctor today who’s put my on anxiety medication and referred me back to the mental health team which is good. I’m glad your granddad is ok!

Have done some cleaning today which is progress. Have also put my flat on a home exchange website, the first message I get is from someone who lives in the area of London I grew up in, was always my mums favourite place, I think she’s telling me something!

I hope everyone has had a kind day.

Hi everyone
Some of Mum’s equipment were collected today , although not the wheelchair as someone else has to collect it . That gave me a bit of comfort as the last time the wheelchair went out the front door , Mum was in it on her way to hospital and I brought it back empty later in the day. Those thoughts were in my head yesterday and this morning going over that Tuesday at the end of November . Will phone Cruse shortly just for a chat . These are the days when I need to phone.
Was cheered up by one of my dancer friends leaving a lovely comment and Ashley posting some lovely pics of her little dog . Straight away made me smile again.
Got an appt to do with my job hunting tomorrow and a UC appt on Thursday
Hope everyone’s day has been as good as can be
Love and best wishes

Hope you have a more positive day tomorrow @NEILB72, and job hunting helps you find something you really want to do. It was nice to hear from Ashley always brightens your day when you have lovely comments.
Did you get to phone Cruse tonight, I spoke to a very nice lady earlier at Cruse, my GP wanted me to contact them for counseling, so now on the waiting list.
Good luck with UC meeting, I’m on that but I don’t hear from them alot I just assume it because I work already, it’s just a top up for my wages since I lost Doug’s income last year.
I hope it’s not too upsetting when they collect your mum’s wheelchair. We gave Doug’s to a charity, it was seeing his mobility scooter going that really upset me.
Sending love and best wishes
