Hi Christine.

Iā€™ll pop back later as I can see Iā€™ve missed a lot of chat and photos.

I am really pleased that tablets will treat Porscheā€™s condition. I can just imagine how beside yourself with fear you have been so having that burden of worry lifted from your shoulders will mean the world.

I think something extra special is called for as an extra treat for Porsche and just as importantly, a treat for yourself as well. You deserve one.

Will check back later
Much love xx

Hi Nick

Thank for the info. Iā€™ve had a look, interesting.

I did actually find one somewhere that talks about Cortisol being higher for the first hour in the morning.

I will try to attach the one I think it is later today.

Hope you have a peaceful day today Nick.

Hi all
Iā€™m afraid my double show day ended with another trip to hospital! Saw the hilariously funny Bleak Expectations starring Julian Clary as this weeks celebrity narrator but during Il Trovatore at ROH, I fainted like I did before at another theatre. It happened around an hour into the opera. Apparently I hit my head although it didnt hurt so agreed to go to my local A and E in a cab paid for by the NHS. Waited all night until 9am for a doctor along with several others. Got seen with CT scan for my head and ECG together with bloods and blood pressure. All come back normal. They put it down again to being hot in the theatre and I was at the back too.
The ROH were so kind and if any are working Wed will thank them when I see the Royal Ballet perform again ( in a seat further forward this time!) Once again there happened to be a doctor sitting near me and I was very grateful for his help. Had a bit of banter with the ambulance girls who were also great.
Hope your weeks have been as good as can be. Now Iā€™m home Iā€™m having a restful weekend.
Enjoy the sunshine.
Love and best wishes
Neil x

Oh Neil, going to theatre is proving hazardous for you. Iā€™m glad your okay and will get to see it again. You will have to choose your seats carefully in the future making sure there is always a doctor sitting near by.
Have a good restful weekend.
Just remembered your cousin is coming over from Australia next week, hope you have good week.

Hi Debbie

Seeing my Oz relatives on Mon 19th so thats getting ever nearer.
Hope you have a good weekend

Hi Neil

Giad to hear you are all ok and in one piece rather than pieces! How scary.

Itā€™s a long time since I even saw Julian Clary on TV so when I saw that photo I did actually wonder if he is made to look old or whether thatā€™s his regular look!

He is really humorous if naughty!

Get your feet up and relax Neil, you deserve it after all that.

Hi Tina. Yes couldnt believe it happened again. Will stick to the lower down seats if I can in future. Talk about a sense of deja vu!
Julian Clary is such a funny guy, in more ways than onešŸ˜‰ and looked like he was really enjoying himself on that stage. Got another bargain ticket which was only 5 rows from the stage.
Looking forward to a nice sleep tonight !

Morning all, itā€™s a beautiful day here too. Just sitting in the garden with a cuppa, before I carry on with my housework.
My garden is blooming now, but I do need to cut the grass, maybe tomorrow. Really pleased my pond is starting to clear now.

Have a lovely warm sunny Saturday, a day that Doug would have enjoyed.

Hi Debbie

They are wonderful. Your garden is so lovely. Are the foxgloves? They are so spectacular with their speckled middle but very poisonous to pets so cant have them myself. I believe they make heart medication from foxgloves as well.

Just hoping for some natural rainwater later. Tap water is ok, but a poor substitute for the real thing.

Best wishes xx

Yes Tina they are foxgloves, they have self seeded all over the garden. Luckily I donā€™t have pets anymore because my laurel tree also has berries that are poisonous to animals and humans. But luckily birds can eat them. Always have to wash my hands well after gardening.
Iā€™m sitting out in the garden now, the heat of the day has dropped and itā€™s very pleasant now.
They keep talking about storms, no sign of anything here yet, but where I live is on the edge of the storm forecast area so could miss them.
Itā€™s a good job really I hate thunderstorms, now I havenā€™t got Doug to cuddle up to and make everything okay.
Love Debbie xx

Good heavens Neil I canā€™t believe that happened again but am pleased to read that you are ok x
The theatre must be very hot and/or youā€™re wearing too many clothesā€¦oh do worry about you at times lol x

Anyway glad you have another trip already organised and as Debbie says always make sure you have a dr close by x

My nieces birthday is on Wed and sheā€™s going to be 20!! How she has survived to reach 20 is sometimes beyond me but Iā€™m super proud of the young lady she has become. I asked her what she wantedā€¦a pair of Crocs!! I offered her Vans, Converse but no she wanted Crocs lol x

Hope you are taking it easy this weekend and not over exerting yourself x
Saw Julian Clary in Perth just before lockdown and there were just a few too many older people there who clearly didnā€™t know who he was or his type of humourā€¦he was hilarious  x
Anyway will check in with you tomorrow and make sure youā€™re taking it easy x

Take care and much love :two_hearts: x

Hi Suzanne
Not just the heat it was being at the back and up high with less air I presume( so the doctor thought) and therefore your eyes are straining that bit more combined with the lighting. Just need to stay lower down. Wednesday Iā€™m a bit further lower down and sat in that area before. Another factor was I had for some reason not been sleeping great for a few days before so all caught up with me!
Had two lovely nights sleep now which was bliss and cooking myself a nice roast later . Generally taking it easy for a few days!
Julian Clary certainly is hilarious
Hope your niece has a great 20th birthday!
Sending love and best wishes

Hi all,
Oh Neil. To have that happen again is concerning, even if the tests say youā€™re ok. Are you eating enough (you seem to have lost a lot of weight). I agree you need to carry a doctor around with you when you go to your doā€™s. A handy pocket sized one would be just right. But Iā€™m glad youā€™ve recovered. Wonder if that happens regularly in this heat in those old buildings. Shame you missed your second theatre. Will they give you another ticket? Ask them if they havenā€™t already offered. I love the book staircase in your pic. Very effective. You must be very excited with just a week to go to see your family from Oz. How long are they staying? Would you like to visit them? I would be terrified of all the creepy crawlies. Often watch stuff on you tube about peeps taking risks swimming in rivers and getting eaten by crocs and the like. Not that youā€™d be doing that!

Thank you to everyone for being concerned about Porsch. Iā€™ve had a hectic time over the weekend trying to collect wee from her (plastic beads in her tray) to test her kidneys. Since her trip to the vet she canā€™t toilet properly and Iā€™m waiting to see what they say about taking her back in. She was fine before with loads of wees so Iā€™m presuming its stress related but not sure. Tina I now know what you go through trying to get Zoe to wee. Itā€™s a nightmare. I have to put another nighttime tray down but she isnā€™t pooing either, unless sheā€™s going in the garden and Iā€™ve missed it but I usually know. But sheā€™s having her thyroid tablet with ease as itā€™s hidden in a lump of Primula spread, her fave new treat. Just need to sort out her toileting so I can stop worrying.

Debbie, your garden looks beautiful. My pond is full of stinky mud and I know I should have cleared it before I did the pond plants (which donā€™t seem to be growing) but I had done it not that long ago. Donā€™t know where it all comes from. One of the pumps stopped working and a lot of the water escaped down the garden so I have a new one to fit (why do they never come with a plug?). It doesnā€™t matter how much work I put into the garden it never looks finished. A lot of my plants died (not going to bother with plug plants and especially upset about the sweet peas as I always think of mam).
Iā€™ve been digging out the build up of old bird seed (OMG the stench!) in the bird feeding bench corner and need to wash the gravel stones and mix with cement to fill in the areas between paving slabs so I can just brush the seed away and not have it drop and take root or just fester as it has been. Scattered the usual feed on the lawn which I trimmed (on my hands and knees with scissors as I couldnā€™t find the strimmer) but the babies are refusing to go there and keep faffing about in the usual spot. So I hope to get the cement done asap so everything can go back to normal. Got my arches done over the lawn for the climbing roses (blooming) and will post pics later if I can.

Suzanne, this week will fly by and youā€™ll be on hols in no time. Anything lovely planned? Will be swimming with my niece again this week but nothing planned yet. Sheā€™s having an awful time at work, being put upon because sheā€™s new and young. Wants to do something else but doesnā€™t know what. Itā€™s such a shame that she has no drive and ambition because sheā€™s so clever. Probably wonā€™t go to uni now despite all the encouragement I give about how fun it will be and having independence etc. Waiting for the outdoor pool to be opened so I can pretend Iā€™m on holiday! The thing with living alone is that I canā€™t put sun lotion on my back and donā€™t want to burn. You could see if there are any other pools in your area for your week off.

Nick, Iā€™ve found doing stuff very early on and much later when heat has cooled is best for anything physical. Otherwise I just melt. I know itā€™s not fun doing the cars but it will be a massive achievement when they are all finished. Iā€™d help if I could! Love a challenge.

Quite stressed but Iā€™m just waiting for Porsch to settle so she can wee and I can stop worrying. I remember the vet saying she had a fight trying to trim her claws. Maybeā€™s that has had a long lasting effect. Wish mam was here to tell me what to do and reassure me everything will be ok.

Palou, Iā€™ll be posting pics as soon as I sort Porsch out. Do you have a shady relaxing spot to sit in in this heat? Glad itā€™s going to rain later. Might cool the place down a bit. Would love to be by the sea right now. Can imagine it would be fiercely cold in the winter though.

Forgot to mention, I discovered the creep has cut back the section he trimmed where my trellis ended and has created a window the size of a large tv through which to watch me. So I had to block the hole with my oil tablecloths, jamming it in place with bits of 2 by 2. But his mate with the dogs came and pushed it down so I then had to jam a piece of trellis up and tie it to the trees on my side so it couldnā€™t be removed and then jammed the tablecloths back in place again. Iā€™ve reported the creep to the council because I found a piece of roof tile which had been cut and also it seems he has jammed pebbles beneath a tile to raise it up to allow access for the rat. Also, a section of cement has been pushed through. If it was loose it would simply fall on the outside of the roof and down. So very stressful wondering what else heā€™s been doing while creeping around at 4.30 am. Iā€™m so exhausted having to protect myself from him and his mate.

Good news - vet appointment this afternoon. Explained she must be stressed since her visit on Thursday. Iā€™ve never had to deal with anything like this before on my own. Not looking forward to the drive as my air con needs doing. I seem to have a run of smooth and then lots of things happen together to have to sort out.

Lots of love xxx

Hi Christine. Iā€™m fine now thank goodness. Because I hit my head this time thats why they were concerned and thankfully the CT scan came back clear. I hadnt been sleeping great for a couple of weeks and that was also a factor and being higher up at the back of the theatre( like last time it happened) all contributed to what happened. Will be seeing the Royal Ballet this week before they go on their summer break and this time next week I will be with my relatives from Oz.
Need that distraction and something to look forward to as Fathers Day is coming up and thats always very difficult for me.
Hope you are enjoying the weather.
Sending love and best wishes

Hi Neil,
Iā€™m just glad youā€™re alright and that youā€™ve had good people around you to sort things out. It must be a common occurence in summer heat with no air con. At least youā€™ve been thoroughly checked over, though how you managed to sit and wait until 9 the next morn is beyond me. Must have been exhausting and very dramatic I should think given the state of A and E now.
You have some lovely things to look forward to and getting through Fathers Day will be tough, like Mothers Day for me but youā€™ll do it. We always surprise ourselves with our strength but it still baffles me how we do it. I wonā€™t be sending a card, contacting or seeing him. I thought he went to see my sister every week but according to my niece he hardly ever goes. So I imagine heā€™s in the pub most days now that his mate has retired. Itā€™s exactly the situation mam used to be trying to avoid. Moving into the assisted living was the worst possible scenario given that it is literally round the corner from the pub. Mam fought until she couldnā€™t anymore. Breaks my heart that she spent her life trying to protect him from himself and this is the end result. Up to him.
Just waiting to leave to take Porsch to the vet again. Dreading getting into the car which will be baked in the sun. Iā€™ll be drenched by the time I get there! Doesnā€™t help that the creep has a mate over and if he sees me heā€™ll be watching. Havenā€™t heard from the council yet about him and the roof.
Are you getting out in the shade to enjoy the weather? My garden is so shady now with all the climbers and arches. Didnā€™t take the hose round last night so will have to today when I get back. Did the pots though.
Canā€™t hear my birds now that Iā€™ve moved their feeding to the lawn.
Must get dressed now to go out. Dreading the journey.
Take it easy and drink plenty of water. Iā€™ve been keeping my strength up during the day with fresh berries and milk shakes. Too hot to eat.
Wish me luck coaxing Porsch into her basket. Hope she survives the journey and doesnā€™t pass out like you do!
Lots of love xxx

Hi guys,
Just got back with new medication for Porsch. Little poppet has cystitis but should be well again in a week. She seems to enjoy her trips out in the car and is such a good girl at the vets. We had to wait in the car during the downpour, thunder, lightening, wind, hail! Was worried for my windows at one point it was that fierce. But weā€™re home and Porsch has had her new meds (liquid down the throat with food after) and a wee. Panic over! Still need to get a sample to the vet for her kidneys but Iā€™ll wait until sheā€™s weeing again properly. Always such a panic for me going anywhere so Iā€™ll prob have a nap this afternoon. And Iā€™m pleased I donā€™t have to water the garden. Can get back on track now with my postings. Hereā€™s some left over from the last few days but the roses are blooming and will have changed again since my pics. I spotted a lovely little iris yester, purple with lovely markings. Thought I only had yellow.
There is a great beauty and drama in structures which remain long after they have passed. The old tree at the top appears to be home to many creatures including my family of squirrels.

I canā€™t load any pics so will have to come back later. See you then x

Hi Christine

You are having a bit of a difficult time arenā€™t you with Porsche right now but her wee should improve with the antibiotics. Can imagine the little thing has felt quite rough.

Zoe had a new experience this morning because she got pelted with an egg. In fact I had a new experience too because Iā€™ve never thrown an egg before! Sheā€™d hunted out a container of metal pieces I was going to use in a mosaic and sheā€™d prised the top off by chewing it and I could see her with them on the lawn. If Iā€™d have shouted and ran to get them sheā€™d have chased off with them thinking it was a game. Donā€™t ask me what thought process brought me to throw an egg (cost of living crisis and all that lol) but it was the safest course of action at the time!

I can well understand you not feeling your garden will ever be completed because it wonā€™t. Thereā€™ll always be something youā€™ll want to change/improve/modify. I think it just goes with the territory if you like gardening as you do. I was the same when I had loads of plants/shrubs. The back garden roses are incredible now and I donā€™t know why but I seem to be having better luck with the strawberries this year. My sister gave me a pot of grape hyacinths but Iā€™m not entirely sure how to keep them.

Shame about your niece getting unfavourable treatment at work. Society (parts of) seems to have developed a bit of an undesirable streak recently. As for you ā€œlovelyā€ neighbour, what an absolute ******, and Iā€™m not even gonna say the word! We were quite harsh in pruning back a tree at the start of Spring, leaving just a few branches but this Virginia Creeper has entwined itself around those remaining branches and itā€™s really denae coverage now. You could do with some garden mirrors strategically placed, so you can see what antics he gets up to trying to mess with your garden.

I do take pictures but they never do justice to what gets photographed but Iā€™ll look at what I have done and post some up.

Speak soon much love xx

Hi Neil,

Yeah I guess all that makes sense what the dr said as heat rises and I get the whole insomnia thing just now as I just canā€™t sleep properly because itā€™s too hot. Iā€™m never happy lol x
Iā€™m headed down to London on Sunday so looking forward to that. Got a few ideas for things to do but will wait and see what my pal wants to do. Turns out two of my friends are also going down to London the day I leave so Iā€™m grateful I wonā€™t see them :joy: x

When do your cousins arrive in to the U.K.? What are your plans with them?
I hope your ballet is less exciting this week x
Do you have any plans for Fathers Day?

Hope you are doing well today and will check in with you tomorrow x
