So I started dating this beautiful man just 3 weeks after he lost his dear wife. His wife was in my care for 7 months at a home I worked in. She had had dementia for 2 years, he was her sole carer before she moved to my home. Everyone had built a great relationship/friendship with him as he came to visit almost every day and night. When his wife passed away we stayed intouch, just checked in every couple of days. He asked if he could take me for a coffee, I said yes and we have gone from there. It is coming upto a year of her passing but also a year of our new journey. I am so in love with this man it is unreal and I know he has very strong feelings for me too. We do everything together like normal couples do, he has a great relationship with my children and family, his son (29) knows about us, although I have only met him once very briefly in the beginning, I have met his dad, gone for drinks with his dad, and some of his friends know about us, but hes keeping me hidden from friends and family. He does everything with me and mine, but never the other way round. I have supported him through everything throughout this year, we talk about all sorts, bad days good days, his life with his wife/family, guilt, us, our life moving forward. Sometimes I just feel when hes making plans with his family and im not included i feel a little left out or maybe not a priority as he is included in everything we do. Im not silly I understand that he has worries about what people may say as people will say its too soon, but how can anyone say its too soon, theres not a book on how long things take, or how long you should wait before you find happiness, it wasnt planned it just happened very naturally, I wasnt looking for anyone either to be honest with you, we just clicked. He has said that he doesn’t want to let everyone know before a year has passed, which I respect and totally understand.
