Hi all grieving folks, want to vent. I went to a doctors appointment today for what I fear is Basel cell carcinoma on my face. Exam, pictures, blood pressure check ( which was high) blood work, shingles vaccine, mammogram next week. I tell them all that I’m a new widow, I don’t hide it. All they say is “ I’m so sorry” I say I lost the love my of my life, my attached partner my best friend. I tell the vaccine clinic too. The blood draw nurse too. There is NO recommendation for help, just a I’m so sorry. There needs to be more acknowledgement for the grieving. ![]()
Hi Gumby, im so sorry for everything you’re going through, when will you know for sure?? Why do we hafta suffer more on top of suffering, come September I gotta do a mammogram too, not looking forward to that..i agree there should be more acknowledgement for people who are grieving, there should be at least in the medical profession..ill be praying for you, here i am at the moment sitting in the dark, our power went out, there was a thunderstorm earlier, its gonna start getting hot, and my phones battery will die..i will be praying for you![]()
don’t let them put you on bp pills that’s a downhill battle, what do they expect it to be normal, whatever number they make up to sell drugs, go on a100 plus age and the other one below 100, that’s what a consultant told me 50 years ago, they changed it over the last 15 years, to I think 120/80 I’d fall over at that, mines run about 170/96 for years even goes up if I’m stressed but not had it checked for 3 years it was 220/120 just anxiety.they try to scare you same with statins you don’t want to go there
Oh my, that is high Spike,..
gets the blood/oxygen to your brain and vital parts,I’m in gods hands I wont go docs unless I break a leg or something
Hi @Gumby
I am really sorry the medical people offered no help. After my husband died I should have had routine medical bloods ect . I couldn’t face going so put them off .
When I finally went , and told them what had happened. They were so helpful and full of suggestions of what would help me .
Some of which I have done and benefited from . Even locally with people i know how have different gps . I know it varies a lot
It seems to depend on the medical practice you go to . I hope you have a better day today.
Hi spike1
Sorry about this morning had a fair idea that would happen tried to contact you but no answer will try again hope you had a lovely walk
Sarah
Hi and sorry for your loss, there’s no way anyone can know how we suffer emotionally, if they have not been down the grief path themselves, especially with the loss of a much loved partner and soulmate. Most people are kind and try to empathise, some can’t deal with the pain of others and retreat. Grief is such a personal experience. I’ve tried some online counselling and although it gives you another way of seeing things, it doesn’t help with the grief in my experience.
I lost my partner 10 and a half months ago and things are different but not any easier. Just functioning on a daily basis is all i can do just now. Some days are darker than others . I didn’t ask for this and I’m still angry, mostly at God. Hopefully I will carry my grief with me in a manageable way eventually, just not now. Take care.
@spike1 Red Rice Yeast is a natural statin. Sold as a supplement. I also take Lecithin Cindy
@Gumby There largely isn’t acknowledgement. I’ve stopped going to a doctor, who also treated my husband, and never asked after him, though he knew he had died. Also a diner we went to for years, no “where is Roy?” Never went back. Don’t expect it is the best. I told strangers the first days. I no longer do. You don’t have to hide it, but know to expect nothing. I hope your pain eases, it will take time, and always be there in some form, but things will get better. Cindy ![]()
